In a celebration of our region’s diverse and dedicated growers, we’re honoured to run a weekly Farm Gate at our soon-to-be new Wandering Cooks venue – 63 Vulture Street, West End – every Saturday from 10am – 3pm.
The produce available is curated each week by our chefs to use on our menu (over at Fish Lane) and offer to you, meaning you can be assured it is the cream of the crop. Sometimes we choose exquisite subtropical fruits and sometimes gnarled but deliciously crispy and sweet carrots which nature has taken for a twirl. We curate based on what farmers have gluts of, what is at the peak of its season, what is interesting and unique to our climate and what is going to make the most delicious plates of foods.
Some of the farms which will be represented are The Falls Farm, Little Acre Mushrooms, Thai Hoa’s Local Growers, Neighbourhood Farm, and Mary Valley Country Harvest Co-operative to name a few.
Our friendly team will be on hand to offer guidance as to how to use the produce, how and by whom it is grown, why it is present in our terroir and anything else you can think of!
To ensure the Farm Gate runs smoothly and safely, we’ll be requiring shoppers to move around with social distancing in mind and be aware that the capacity in the venue will be limited.
