Pickles have been in Mikey’s life since he was 6 months of age and his Czech mum gave him a dill pickle for a teething rusk. With that single action began an almost unholy love for dill pickles.
After experiencing the amazing variety of pickles in New York, Mikey came back to Australia determined to make his own handmade version.
Modify an old family recipe, throw in a few test runs and a semi drunken attempt at label art – Picklehead Pickles was born!
Mikey and his wife, Lizzy have been working out of the Wandering Cooks Kitchens for some time now and are always a pleasure to have around.
Recently, Picklehead Pickles struck gold! They were announced as the official pickle supplier to Grill’d Burgers new venture, Williams Burger Days. Beating out the stiff competition, WBD’s Heston Blumenthal trained chef picked their pickles! They could not be happier but this hobby is becoming more and more of a consistent job. Hooray for them.
There are no bar codes, no preservatives or anything nasty, just the best Australian ingredients and a whole lotta love. With a large focus on sourcing and a whole lot of sass, Picklehead Pickles do Mikey’s mum proud.
