Micah Projects offered an alternative to the traditional ‘soup kitchen’ model, where individuals line up to be fed, since 2010, by providing a real opportunity for people in the local community to get to know each other. Guests include socially isolated and vulnerable people with whom we work and local people who have an interest in their community and social justice.
People were invited to share a sit down quality family style meal in a restaurant setting. Early in 2015, Micah Projects partnered with Wandering Cooks to utilise their amazing commercial kitchen and function venue to host the community meal. The meal was only made possible by the generosity of donors, volunteers and businesses offering in-kind support.
