Positive events to inspire, inform and uplift.
PepTalks is a series of positive gatherings for anyone who’d like to experience a different type of evening out. Brought to you by Peppermint magazine, each PepTalks event features speakers from the pages of Peppermint and beyond who are making a difference in the world – be it through food, fashion, farming, mindfulness, creativity, social enterprise or something else – and who are passionate about sharing their story, truth and wisdom with others.
Held in unique locations, featuring delicious snacks and beverages from local businesses, each of our PepTalks is sure to be a night to remember. Come along, be inspired, make authentic connections and prepare to go home feeling refreshed and a little more positive about the world. Let’s hear it for evenings with meaning!
Don’t miss our very first PepTalks event at the fabulous Wandering Cooks in Brisbane on Tuesday 22 March. We’ll hear from Justine Flynn, the passionate co-founder of life-changing social enterprise Thankyou; Hailey Bartholomew, gratitude convert and maker of beautiful short films; and Shannon Sheedy, fair trade trailblazer and founder of sustainable homewares and lifestyle store The Dharma Door. There’ll also be snacks from Sol Breads, Woombye Cheese Company and Alter Eco chocolate, and a drink on arrival. We hope you’ll join us!
Justine Flynn, Thankyou
Melbourne-based Justine established Thankyou alongside a group of co-founders that includes her husband, Daniel. Six years on, she continues to drive the vision to see Thankyou become a household name with the goal to help millions of people in need through sales of Thankyou’s range of bottled water, food and bodycare products. The company has also just launched a groundbreaking crowdfunding campaign to fund the launch of Thankyou Baby and Thankyou New Zealand. Justine is passionate about a lot of things, but in particular she has a passion for people and business as Thankyou’s Director of Brand & People. In her role, Justine oversees the Marketing, Creative and Communications & HR Teams. And she balances all this with being a mother to the couple’s adorable young son, Jed.
Hailey is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker who lives on the Gold Coast and creates work that is inspiring and colourful. Her husband Andrew is an architectural photographer and designer and, along with their two daughters, they travel the world with their brand You Can’t Be Serious in search of the work they love to do – making films that matter and shooting photography that you’ll never forget. Hailey also created the 365 Grateful photographic project to encourage herself and others to appreciate the little things in life, improving her mindset and relationships with others in the process.
Shannon Sheedy, The Dharma Door
Byron Bay-based Shannon is the founder and co-owner of The Dharma Door, an endorsed Fair Trader of Australia.
