Inspired Accordionist, Pianist and Composer John Reeves brings his gang over to Hot Club in the first of many celebrations of the Squeeze-box, or the Devil’s Handbag.
The accordion was long-haunting the streets of Paris and the Gypsy camps all over Europe when Django came to develop and define what is now known as Gypsy Jazz or Swing Manouche. His influences were many from American Jazz to Classical to traditional Gypsy to the style that was Paris’ own where accordion was King, French Musette, the first style of music that young Django himself played on the Banjo.
