Wandering Cooks™ is no longer many food businesses, but one very special one, with the clear mission of supporting small farmers and producers.
We build our bar and restaurant menus around growers who don’t scale up at the expense of supporting their soils and communities—they work with the seasons. They have gluts and crop failures. They don’t have lemons all year round, and their much-anticipated watermelons get eaten by hordes of ducks (yes, really). They often have lots of radishes. They raise only whole animals, not just prime steaks and chicken wings.
Our menus are a dance with our farmers and producers.
When you eat, drink and buy your produce here, you’re supporting a crowd of wonderful local farmers and producers working to reshape Australia’s farming future. Together – you, us, our food makers and the farmers and producers they support – are transforming our city’s food culture, one meal at a time.
How’d we manage all this right in the heart of Brisbane? Big dreams, a lot of nerve and a whole lot of chutzpah.
