Alexander’s Supreme Swedish Cinnamon Buns is run by Paul, who lived, studied and worked in Scandinavia for 6 years. Paul met Alexander (who’s Swedish) in Norway (obviously), where they lived and worked peacefully. Then, suddenly, they decided it was time for a change.
They quit their jobs, sold everything, and flew to Darwin, where they bought a 4WD (named it Doris), put a tent on the roof and set off into the desert.
They popped out the other side in Hobart and decided they’d had such a great time travelling and adventuring that they didn’t want to stop. So, they turned around and headed north to begin housesitting throughout rural New South Wales.
Living in other people’s homes, taking care of their gardens and pets inspired them to put down some roots for a while. So, they did – in Brisbane. Lucky Brisbane!
Their buns are inspired by the Swedish tradition of ‘fika’, the act of sitting down with friends, family, or colleagues, to enjoy a short break and a chat over a coffee and a snack. Call it morning tea, call it afternoon tea… They call it FIKA!
Paul and Alexander knead and knot their buns by hand. The result is an indulgent dough, bursting with the fragrant flavours of cinnamon and cardamom.
