Miso making with Sasakani Kobo

Have you ever wondered what exactly Miso is, and how Japanese people use it? Or how you can introduce a healthy Japanese ingredients like Miso to your everyday meals?
It is great to see that Miso has finally started appearing on various menus in Brisbane cafés and restaurants! However, most of the people still use miso just for Miso soup at home. Miso actually performs a very versatile role in cooking as a seasoning. Miso gives dishes an incredible flavour boost when it is properly used.
Come and learn the secret to Japanese diet. We’d love to show you how Sasakani Kobo makes the most delicious organic Miso you can imagine using locally produced organic ingredients. The process is relatively simple, but knowing a few little tricks makes all the differences. Once you know the tricks, everyone can make Miso at home. Our goal is to see all the Brisbane miso lovers start making their own miso at home, from 100% locally grown ingredients!
During the session, we Sasakani Kobo will share the history of Miso, its background, and details of the various types of Miso you can make. Then, a chance to taste our varieties of matured Miso! Also, a number of yummy sample dishes are provided. You will experience how you can integrate Miso more broadly in your everyday cooking! Finally, we will demonstrate how we prepare miso at home.
After the official part is finished, stick around to chat and enjoy some drinks at the bar! We would love to talk more about traditional Japanese fermentation. A range of sample size products (complete with some recipes) are included in this workshop, so take it home and try out right away!
